Dominicana Moda 2009 will be held in El Hotel Occidental El Embajador in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. From October 19 to the 24, the DR will be filled with beautiful clothing by talented designers. Even International Model Arlenis Sosa will be walking in a few of the shows. But what I'm really looking forward to is the Carolina Herrera show. She will be closing the show on October 24 at 8:00 pm.

Dominicana Moda 2009 se llevara a cabo en El Hotel Occidental El Embajador en Santo Domingo, Republica Dominicana. Desde Octubre 19 al 24, la RD estara lleno de ropa preciosa hechos por diseñadores talentosos. Hasta la Modelo Internacional Arlenis Sosa estara en varios de los shows. Pero lo que estoy ansiosa por ver es el show de Carolina Herrera. Ella cerrará el show el 24 de Octubre a las 8:00 pm

Since October 22nd of last year, I've been doing some soul searching, focusing on what may come and thinking what exactly I want to do with my life. You see I just graduated High School and now I am just about to start college. Something new, something exciting and I'm looking forward to it. I'm also looking forward to the progress of this blog.

Anyway my fashion loving self bought the September Issue of VOGUE, also known as the Fashion Bible of the Fashion World. My local magazine store called me as soon as it arrived . It's 584 pages of beautiful clothing, shoes and perfume samples.

I shall take pictures as soon as possible. =)

This is awesome. I want! ; Steif created a teddy bear of Karl Lagerfeld. It's limited edition, only 2,500 were made and will be launched in September at Neiman Marcus stores for $1,500 USD each. Ouch, quite high price for a teddy bear. But it is pretty darn cute.

COMME des GARCONS new collection for H&M is coming out in Autumn and W Magazine has the first look. I can't wait to see the entire collection, even though those clothes are much to warm for Autumn/Winter in my country.

The range consists of:

"Mostly black and with Japanese tomboy airs, the H&M collection includes a range of tailored jackets, many deconstructed, along with cropped pants, baggy shorts and a variety of skirts in stretch wool. On the perkier side are polkadot knits in jersey or merino wool, colorful shirts—some with dots—and a “showpiece” coatdress decorated here and there with dense Victorian ruffles. There are also accessories and a unisex perfume with notes of cedar and patchouli but, alas, no children’s wear."

I've been kind of MIA lately but time has gone by too fast for me these past couple of weeks. I've been so busy!. I love you all!

To Eat: Cornflakes with honey and sliced bananas and ice cold milk. Corn Flakes is pretty much the only type of cereal I can stand. You can change the flavor just by changing the toppings you decide to put on it. At this moment my toppings of choice are honey and sliced bananas.

Love is a mix tape: Life and loss, one song at a time by Rob Sheffield

I ordered this book as soon as it came out last year and devoured it in a couple of day’s time. This book is about mix tapes and looking back and reminiscing. Each chapter starts off with a fresh mix tape filled with some amazing, refreshing, ridiculous, and bizarre songs; every tape has a specific date.

“A shy music geek named Rob Sheffield met a hell-raising Appalachian punk-rock girl named Renée, who was way too cool for him but feel in love with him anyway. He was tall. She was short. He was shy. They had nothing in common except that they both loved music. Music brought them together. And it was music that would help Rob trough a sudden, unfathomable loss." – Taken from the publisher comments in the book-.

Rob loved Renée in the most pure way you could love a person. He writes about everything from their first meeting, to their relationship, their marriage and her sudden death at age 31.

He relates it all with music. A special soundtrack for each part. He uses the song on fifteen mix tapes to tell the story.

This book is so much more than real life love chronicle so don’t dismiss it if you’re not into love stories. I discovered so many new favorite songs because of this book; so many new bands; you also get an inside look into the 90’s music scene and pop culture.

One of my favorite chapters of this book is “How I got that look” pages 118 -130. The mix tape for this chapter has everything from Pavement, to Hole, The Offspring, Veruca Salt and many, many more. It starts off with: “The spring of 1994 was marked by two key events in rock history: the death of Kurt Cobain and the birth of Zima” and then it continues describing what happened that summer, and about Nirvana’s Unplugged from how it begins to very interesting details and observations.

Mix tapes are pretty much ancient history being with the birth of cds, ipods and other creations but still the feeling and sentiment of creating a list of various songs for someone or even yourself is amazing. I love making them , I enjoy every minute of it. I also love making "mixed cds" or Ipod playlists for my friends and family.

I recommend this book 100%. It’s for anyone who loves a great story and have a passion for good music.

Tiffany and Co. has tapped Japanese architect Kengo Kuma to redesign its Tokyo flagship. The three-story store is slated to be finished in November and the design is meant to evoke jewelry. The facade will be composed of honeycomb glass panels in an ode to diamonds. Kuma said the design "echoes Tiffany's visual identity." Kuma is the first Japanese architect that Tiffany has commissioned.

I can't wait to see the finished product!. Japanese stores are out of this world. Simply amazing, like something taken out of the future.

Avril Lavinge is launching a clothing line that will be sold exclusively at Kohls. It will be called Abbey Dawn and will come out this July. The new line, which will blend an "authentic rock 'n' roll attitude with a feminine edge," will range in price from $24 to $48, and will feature both apparel and jewelery.

Excellent timing, they are definitely targeting the "back to school" audience. She describes the line as: "Rock glam: fun, colorful, young and edgy,". You just know it's going to be filled with skulls, hearts, plad and everything faux punk.

American Apparel Bringing back the 90's

Some months ago, I stumbled across some news about American Apparel releasing this summer a tshirt made with Thermochromatic ink. Thermochromatic ink is a type of dye that changes color when temperatures increase or decrease.

I find this all so 90's, remember all those dye t shirts?!, but I am a huge 90's fan so I'm digging the comeback. Goodtimes.

You go into a store and at least 80% of the clothing either have a flower as an added accessory (A belt, a bow, a necklace) or have a flower print on it. So seeing flowers on dresses and blouses are nothing new and it can be quite repetitive being that their everywhere.

Even though I love receiving/buying/cutting flowers, I am not a fan of it on my clothing, or at least that's what I thought. Everything changed when I came across this Oscar de la Renta dress, It's a beauty, may i say it's a piece of art. Unfortunately at $4,270 it's a little out of my price range. So I've decided to find something similar (There's gotta be right?), no no not a copy just something with subtle flowers, not obvious "screaming at you" flowers.

I've been catching up on all the information and news I've missed since my absence. An example of this is: Glastonbury 2008, like I've mentioned in my previous post; since I've never been able to assist the festival due to my geographic discapacity, I've lived it trough pictures.

He estado recopilando informacion de todo lo que perdí durante mi ausencia. Un ejemplo de esto es: Glastonbury 2008, como mencione en mi post pasado, ya que nunca he podido asistir al festival dado mi discapacidad geografica, lo he vivido mediante fotos.

But since i wasn't here this weekend I actually have to"search the internet" for it. While I was searching i came across a article on wishwish.net. She actually got a press pass and took some amazing pictures like the one of the singer Pete Doherty you can see above. There are also pretty fantastic quality pictures. Check it out.

Hello hello. I'm back!. Back from holiday, I can't believe it's been almost 10 days!...

While on vacation I grew a mini fascination with fútbol (soccer) and the Euro Cup 2008, and started supporting the Spanish team. --Keep in mind that I am not a futbol fan-- when they won the final game against Germany, I got all excited and started watching TVE (Televisión Española) and all the celebrations going on in the country. They take futbol very seriously over there and it was very fun to watch. Spain is now the champion of Europe; they hadn't had that title in over 40 years, so Congratulations to them.

En mis vacaciones desarrolle una mini fascinación con el fútbol y la Euro Copa 2008. Comenzé a apoyar la seleccion española --Mantén en mente que no soy fan del fútbol-- y cuando ganaron el final contra alemania, me emocione y comenze a ver todas las celebraciones llevadas a cabo en España mediante TVE (Televisión Española). En España el fútbol es algo serio y fue divertido ver todo. España es ya el Campeón de Europa, título que no habían llevado por más de 40 años. Felicitaciones a ellos.

There are so many concerts/festivals going on all over the world. Let's take as example the United State of America. A couple of Summer concerts that are currently going on are:

This piece of fabulous machinery got me thinking how much i love inventive cuisine. I love creativity and food, combine both and congratulations you’ve reached perfection. Of course the Japanese already got that down to a science. I mean Bento boxes are fabulous, they are lunch boxes, much like the type of box you take your lunch to school in; of course people have taken it to the point that it becomes art.

Esta fabulosa maquinaria me puso a pensar en cuanto adoro la comida inventiva. Adoro la creatividad y la comida, combinas ambas y felicidades has alcanzado la perfección. Claro ya los japoneses saben de esto. Las llamadas cajas Bento son fabulosas, son loncheras, similar al tipo de caja en la cual llevas tu comida al colegio y claro hay gente que ya ha convertido esto en arte.

I'm reading the book Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis (Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman), and so far I'm hooked, guy has had a quite unbelievable life. While the book progresses he mentions the different styles of the time (Leather jackets, platform shoes, etc) and it got me thinking, how much i love the rocker look. That old school rocker-ish look. It's more wild and easier than the looks most musicians have now.

Mientras el libro avanza, Kiedis menciona los distintos estilos de la época (Chaquetas de Cuero, zapatos de plataforma, etc) y me puso a pensar, de cuanto me gusta el look rockero. El look de los rockeros de décadas anteriores. Es un estilo más fácil y salvaje que los músicos de ahora.

Oh summer!. The spare time, the no obligations, the chance to do whatever you want whenever you want. Holiday!. Over here it's pretty much summer the whole year round, so it's always warm. But it's always a bit more hot in summertime (way hotter!). I made an example of what i would take for a week on the beach. I like to keep it simple, not over pack, you are there to relax anyway but of course always stylish.

Verano!. El tiempo libre, no obligaciones, la oportunidad de hacer lo que quieras cuando quieras. Vacaciones!. Por acá es verano basicamente el año entero, asi que siempre esta caliente. Pero siempre es un poquito más caluroso en época de verano (Mucho más caliente!). Hice un ejemplo de lo que llevaría para pasar una semana en la playa. Me gusta ser simple, no empacar demasiado, estas ahi para descansar pero siempre claro mantenerse con estilo.

A dock worker Jude travels to America in the 1960s to find his estranged father. There he falls in love with sheltered American teenager Lucy. When her brother Max is drafted to fight in the Vietnam War, they become involved in peace activism. The film title and main characters are named after various songs by The Beatles.

This movie had so much "hype" surrounding it. Usually when movies are so talked and praised about you fill yourself with expectations, hoping that your imagination will be fulfilled. Most of the time they're disappointing [Garden State, im looking at "you". I mean Natalie Portman is adorable, but seriously what the hell?], long, senseless, you try to find the positive but it just fails.

But then you come across one that marks your life forever. For me this is the movie "Across the Universe". I mean the soundtrack is simply amazing. I made copies for all my friends. They adored it and are thankfull for it. I definitely recommend it. You should also check out the soundtrack. Fantastic.

Esta película tuvo mucho revuelo a su alrededor. Usualmente cuando las películas son tan mencionadas y alabadas, te llenas te expectativas, esperando que tu imaginacion sea llenada. La mayoria de veces son decepcionantes [Garden State, te estoy mirando. Digo Natalie Portman es adorable, pero en serio ¿que rayos?], largos, sin sentido, tratas de buscar el lado positivo pero de nada sirve.

Pero un día te atraviesas con una que marca tu vida para siempre. Para mi esta pelicula fue "Across the Universe" (A traves del Universo). El soundtrack es simplemente asombroso. Hice copias para todos mis amigos. Lo adoraron y me lo agradecieron totalmente. Definitivamente se los recomiendo. Tambien deberian de chekear el soundtrack. Fantástico.
